The Nodal Partners
Meeting in the Cave can be implemented in a variety of locations around the world. For the purpose of this context, the first suitable specific site for its deployment has been identified in New York City, across 7 Nodal Partners, each embodying one node of the 7-fold dimensional paradigm projected on the urban territory, 7 cultural institutions, transceivers, all actively involved in the process, each identified by a correspondingly colour and logo.
The Eye and the Cave Nodal Partners, the polarities, are located at the edges of the installation: the former, in the city centre, in Midtown Manhattan, at the MoMA (M), with the Red Book; the latter, with the opera Cave 3.0 in the urban periphery at the Brooklyn Bridge Park on Old Dock Street, at the Jane’s Carousel (J) area, linked by their inherent axial symbolism[1].
Struggling to overcome their own limits, the two polarities disquiet the status quo and outgrow into a higher synthesis transcending them both, embracing Centre and Periphery, Establishment and Margin, the Feminine and the Masculine beyond duality. In this, they interconnect in a straight segment the other 5 intervening Nodal Partners: the Rockefeller Center (R), between 48th and 51st Street; the Morgan Library (ML), in the Murray Hill neighbourhood; the School of Visual Arts (SVA), in the Gramercy neighbourhood bordering Midtown Manhattan and the East Village; the Orpheum Theatre, on the Second Avenue in the East Village; and the Tenement Museum of Immigration (T), in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. An ongoing two-way itinerary to and from high and popular culture, and return, with their top-down and bottom-up social and cultural flows converging on the demarcation line between the East Village and Midtown Manhattan.
All Nodal Partners are actively involved with their constituents in the work. Each Nodal Partner is identified by a colour and a logo related to one of the 7 dimensions of consciousness, musical note, chakra, etc. Within their premises, a dedicated Virtual Matrix metaspace where the Royal Couple meets and entertains visitors and audience.
All Nodal Partners’ representatives will be Panellists in the side-event Awareness, Culture, and Self-sustainable Development in the Digital Age… & Beyond at the UNGA opening.
